A female client had fallen in love with my work after seeing it in a gallery in 2007. Six years later, her fiance secretly commissioned this painting as a novel way of popping the question to her. He arranged to have it hanging in the restaurant where they had their first date.

And it's true about dog owners resembling their pets. She's leggy and red like a Hungarian Vizsla and he's umm.. a French Bulldog.
